Randy was an exceptional host Our experience exceeded all our expectations The house itself was beautiful and historic

There was plenty of communal space to hangout and it was very cozy, from the comfortable seating to the warm fireplace Upon arrival Randy gave us a tour of the Inn, provided food recommendations, and helped carry our bags to our room The wine hour at 5pm was a nice touch and a great way to meet and converse with fellow travelers The complimentary breakfast was incredibly deliciousStewart Inn belongs in its own category of lodging and has helped me see a new way of traveling that I worry I can’t find elsewhere From a historic, bespoke interior to the warm, personal touch of Randy’s hosting to the affordable rates of our room, Stewart Inn was a refreshing and memorable experience

Tina McCauley

We spent 3 nights at the Stewart Inn and were delighted with every aspect of our stay Randy was welcoming and kind He attended to our every need (and could tell us the best dish at just about every restaurant in a 15 mile radius!!)

Our room was extra comfortable with a fireplace, 2 comfy chairs, a steam shower, and luxuriously soft sheets Breakfast was an event in itself; a time to leisurely enjoy multiple courses of painstakingly prepared and delicious dishes We will most certainly return!

Tara

Excellent stay at such a beautiful home Randy really is a great host Very considerate man who took into consideration all dietary needs, which is always appreciated

Also, had a super cute friendly dog which made the stay 100x better Overall super clean and professional Would definitely return! He also prepared a beautiful breakfast for the guests

Rooms are nice, the only thing that I kinda didn’t like was that the sink was outside of the bathroom It’s more of a preference thing to have the sink in the bathroom to wash hands before coming out, but not that big of a deal All in all appearance of the hotel was nice

Breakfast was not included with the stay but plenty of options there and outside of the hotel within a short distance

Diana Brown

I should have mentioned my comments to the front desk The pictures need a good dusting, they have been neglected and and are covered in dust Caulk needs replaced in the bathroom showers

The dressers are peeling and need revamped Overall, the employees and staff are great and accommodating I would definitely stay here again, just the details are missing

Regina Harmon

First of all, the staff, ALL OF THEM, are exceptional in attitude and service Second, the decor is dated but the entire place (room, lounge, pool, fitness area) is so well maintained and clean Finally, the breakfast and coffee are GREAT

Folks, maybe you can get a “free” breakfast at other hotels, but I choose a healthy, well prepared and fresh meal over bland waffles, questionable prepackaged omelets and dried out sausage pucks at lots of other hotel chains Oh, and the coffe is fresh Starbucks!

The room was clean and well organized It was accessible There were plenty of available wall outlets and even two phone-charging points

I was especially impressed with the young lady at the front desk When I first arrived there were four parties ahead of me to check in (it was 6 PM), and she checked us all in quickly and courteously, without making anyone feel rushed–all while fielding phone calls and questions from other guests She was amazing!

It was ok til The hotel was nice don’t get me wrong I was there for traveling and the price was very high for a monthly rental

I love the fact tat it was pet friendly, but if people our staying there with there dogs I should not have to watch were I step or smell dogs mess coming into the hotel And also for it being such a big hotel or old water park need to add more washer and dryers and no dogs allowed in work out room Staff our very friendly and welcoming

Adam Liedl

Good afternoon,We have stayed at Bantr before in the past when it was The Grand Lodge I knew there was a Waterpark there and wanted to treat my children to a fun weekend Upon arrival at Bantr I learned that the Waterpark had closed permanently

When I made the reservation, there was no indication that the Waterpark area had closed Thankfully the main pool and hot tub were still available so that my family could still enjoy some time in the waterHowever, there were still other issues We only had one roll of toilet paper for 5 people when we showed up We tried to call the front desk for more but the phone had been disabled The drain for sink in the entry area could be heard leaking onto the wood below it The TV in the main room was not properly set-up so we were unable to watch it the first night Once again, the phone was not in service to tell anyone that night And lastly The larger TV in the private king bed room is failing The volume couldn’t be controlled at one point, the TV volume got loud all on its own and could not be turned down until the TV was unplugged, the screen would turn pink after having the TV on for a couple minutes, and then toward the end it would just say no signal until it was turned off and then back on againAll in all, we made the best of the stay but was not worth the price I paid for a poorly maintained room  I see no reason why I should return or tell my friends to go I can however, tell them about our experience with it now being Bantr? Or maybe i shouldn’t Perhaps you still have things to sort out since you have become the new owners Either way, I wish you success with your journeySincerelyThe Liedl Family

I’m writing this review not because i want to but because i need to What this company did is completely destroy and likely permanently hurt the community of Rothschild This place used to be the GrandLodge, with waterpark lodgers landing

This company came in and permanently closed what was a staple for our community This hotel is responsible for destroying the Rothschild community and should reap what they sow for closing there waterpark You want to destroy our community, You know that waterpark was one of the main sources for bringing business into Rothschild Your closer of that waterpark and rebranding is gonna effect EVERYONE And i hope EVERYONE who works for this company realizes that I encourage them to RE-Open the waterpark, and save the place, they have time to do it But until that happens i will not remove this review You have hurt the Rothschild area, NOT Just your hotel and the waterpark and people who loved the waterpark But businesses who relied on that waterpark and hotel resort to bring guests to Rothschild such as stores, restaurants, gas stations, ect I hope your happy with yourselves

Great hotel The room looked and smelled clean, everything was in good working order, the towels were fresh, the carpet clean I booked a room with a jacuzzi which was great to soak in after skiing all day, and the jacuzzi was great although it was bubbles only, no jets

This place also has a really great pool area by hotel standards, including a 10 person hot tub A very good deal for the price Reiterating the cleanliness part, it seems basic but it’s a clear priority at this establishment Recommended and hope to be back

Awesome I came with my grandparents on a road trip, and we needed somewhere to stay We went here and when we walked inside, It felt like a cozy nice hotel

The rooms were great, with everything you would need in a house in one room I liked the breakfast too, as it was free and easily accessible I loved the pool, as the are designated for the pool is a large wide open space with lots of windows The water was warm, and the pool was also large for a hotel I would definitely stay here again

Sara Bella

Limited rooms available but the parking lot was never full The front desk was friendly with checking us in Our room was nice and clean

Was great to see a microwave and fridge in the room The bed was hard as a rock and the 4 pillows on the bed where to soft and tiny The morning breakfast had a large selection and had someone filling and cleaning The pool area is was nice and large with lots of setting but is in need for renovations The air was not circulated properly causing it to steam up and smell heavily of chemicals It was to hot and steamy to set and watch the kids play

No signs on pool to advise under maintenanceUnder new management We booked at this location for use of the pool Peeking ceiling paint in bathroom, toilet bowl cracked, luckily it was not leaking No coffee pots in any of rooms as advised from front desk, as they did not believe me as it’s in my confirmation email from them Showed email to front desk clerk to prove it I do not know if I would recommend until repairs and ” maintenance” of pool is repaired

In general, the hotel is good, not big! The breakfast is good, but the choice is moderate! The room is spacious, but there was no microwave, with a small child is not very convenient! The pool was a hit with the kids! I didn’t like that there were long black hairs in the bathroom, which you can’t notice when cleaning! The question is, how clean is the cleaning? Otherwise, this chain of hotels always suits us!☺️

We’ve been here two years in a row now and we plan to keep coming Its basically ON the Granite Peak ski hill, (which we love for snowboarding weekends) and the amenities are great! Fireplaces and full kitchens available in units! We would be sad if we had to room anywhere else while snowboarding at Granite Peak My husband and son can walk to and from the mountain multiple times a day while wave to them from the (very spacious) outdoor hot tub ^_^ relaxing

We had our wedding here Would NOT recommend All of our family’s rooms did not have air conditioning (broken), continental breakfast was to be served, but workers did not show up for that in the morning

The rooms to get ready in for the bridal parties were absolutely disgusting, not cleaned from the previous event Dinner was served 2 hours late, and bar was closed for 2 hours when it was supposed to be open Guests left the wedding to go get drinks at another bar On top of this, management was terrible to deal with after the fact Barely refunded any money, was completely rude and entitled If you’re looking to get married in wausau, do NOT go here

Ty Ebert

I grew up around Wausau, and was always familiar with Jefferson Street inn I finally got around to trying out the restaurant that’s in the hotel and they did not disappoint This was a later meal with some associates that were staying at the hotel

The dining area is very well put together and they present the food almost like a steakhouse The two women running the bar and the dining area were very polite and I feel like we made a very good impression about the Wausau area I will definitely point more people towards staying at the hotel and hopefully grabbing a meal here

They are lucky to get a 2 star from me We stayed for 2 nights Had a nice group of us here

Wanted to play cards by the pool and swim 1st night was ok Bar wasn’t open Was told it’s only open 2 days a week Don’t advertise you have a bar right in the hotel and only have it open 2 days a week And Friday and Saturday’s are not any of them days! We went out to dinner Saturday come back to the pool roped off The pool area opened up for a birthday party and they trashed it Puked in the pool and they left all there drink and food behind No one from the hotel cleaned it up So we couldn’t play cards since all the tables were dirty! It was nasty! They were nice enough to open a back room to let our group play cards (This is why you get 2 stars) Sunday morning it was still trashed in the pool area The showers were lukewarm Our room never cooled down, even set at the lowest setting But thanks for the extra towels Some work needs to be done to this hotel for sure! I wouldn’t stay again until I know it’s been fixed up!

Lidia Kalsow

Staff was nice enoughMy room smelled bad! I couldn’t get used to it It’s loud from the highway but even louder from guests in the pool area so not a place to go as a solo traveler in my opinion

Breakfast was below average The ceiling in the halls has LEAKS! Dripping into trash cans throughout the hallI would expect this from a cheap hotel, not worth the price for sure Will not be returning

First problem the air conditioner didn’t work If you turned it on it made a horrible noise every 30 seconds I tried opening the window’s, only one opened and the bottom of the screen’s were ripped out, So next my wife took a shower and the drain was plugged so after a few minutes in the shower you were standing in 3-4 inches of dirty water

The toilet had a yellow stain behind the toilet seat, most likely urine, When I brought all this to the attention to the management he gave me 10 dollar’s off a 100 dollar rate, I would never stay here again, way too expensive for what I got Motel 6 would be a better choice and a lot cheaper than this hotel

Just checked out of my room and was told yesterday I would be getting a full comp Again my room was dirty Coffee cups had hair old milk, bedding hair, cobs webs in corners

I complained and expected changes but returned to my room with the same issues I would have checked out right there and asked for a refund, but I was told I’d get a full comp What I received was a 20 percentdiscount and a sorry your room was dirty This is my 2nd review and I never leave reviews, I’m incredibly disappointed with management Made me feel like I was an idiotfor expecting a comp It’s a beautiful place and it’s a shame I’ll never stay there again I do want to acknowledge however the housekeeping woman placedA gift bag with a very thoughtful letter, thank you for that They say these things never happen but it takes time for cob webs to grow and the picture in the bathroom was caked with harden debri and dust, and the shower was grimmy The front desk lady yesterday was amazing however and made me feel like I was validated But the manager made me feel incredibly small and I left with tears I could go on about the room but I think my point is made

This is a two star hotel but is really at the top of its class Despite being built in 2007, it looks brand new This is a well cared for property

I stay here frequently as my parents are at the assisted living facility next door There isn’t much staff turnover and everyone really has a can do attitude Beds are comfortable and sheets are as good as at any five star hotel I have stayed Rooms are spacious and clean The pool is a nice extra but can be a bit busy on the weekends There is a decent burger place across the street with a good section of craft beers Next to that is a convenience store that stocks almost anything you might need on a trip The location makes it easy to get anywhere in the Wausau area It is quiet and they will enforce quiet hours if anyone gets noisy at night The hotel is often full so I’d book in advance if you think you might want to stay here Highly recommended

Rhylee Senescall

Best hotel we stayed at in all of Wisconsin! Front desk staff was amazing and they have an ARMY of housekeepers so the whole place was super clean! Breakfast was like a restaurant! Linda and Kay were super sweet, greeted us right away and checked in on us too half way through eating They were busy, but you couldn’t tell Food was hot, fresh, and stocked and very yummy

They have a very nice pool and play area too and it is pretty spacious so even if there’s a bunch of kids in there it isn’t too crowdedClose to a couple restaurants, gas stations, and right off the highway Literally couldn’t find a reason to not stay there even if I wanted to!Definitely will stay again if we’re in the area again! 🙂

My fiance an I travel a lot due to work and we have been to this hotel at least 2 to 3 times a year Never had problems till this past visit We made arrangements like we always do through hotel

com picked what we thought was a 2 queen bed regular room Upon checking in we called the hotel to see if we could get a lower level room on the first floor We were told by the manager on duty that day that they couldn’t switch us rooms cause there was no other room on the main floor in that type And we said we have stayed before an 2 queen beds are very common on a first floor cause we have stayed in them Then she proceeds to say that we requested a handicapped room an when we explained that must of been by mistake and that we would like to switch to a regular 2 queen bed she went on to say that since we booked through a 3rd party like hotelscom it was their policy that they couldn’t switch us rooms But if we would have booked through them directly they would of been able to move us So they put their hotel on booking sites but will not accommodate you if you do If 3rd party booking is such a problem for this hotel then why are you on them? The management of this hotel tried to say it was hotelscom fault well no its not we called them prior to checking in to see if we could switch rooms but they were unable to help as they couldn’t change it the hotel had to So warning if you book 3rd party for this hotel you will be treated as if you don’t matter and are less then They have a good hotel but their policies are horrible We will be making arrangements else where when we come back We will not be staying here cause we have that right to book with hotelscom and be treated like anyone else who books direct Stay away if plan on booking 3rd party you will not be accommodated if your not happy with your room
